image June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month

As the weather heats up you might find yourself craving a cold, crisp salad or some refreshing juicy berries or watermelon. Well you’re just in luck because there is so much wonderful fresh produce in season in the summer! Not only does that mean that there are many different varieties of fruits and vegetables available, but they also tend to go on sale when they’re in season. Check out your local farmer’s market or grocery store to find these tasty summer fruits and veggies:

Vegetables: green beans, beets, carrots, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, lettuces, okra, onions, peas, summer squash, sweet bell peppers, tomatoes, zucchini

Fruits: apricots, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, cantaloupe, cherries, figs, grapes, grapefruit, honeydew melon, nectarines, passion fruit, peaches, pineapple, plums, raspberries, strawberries, watermelon
